about

Hailing from Portland, Oregon, U Sco are an uncompromising new force in the creative rock underground. U Sco incorporate paint-peeling feedback, twisting time signatures, grinding basslines, propulsive drumming, and fleeting segments of cathartic melodies. In the face of conformity and homogenized rock 'n' roll bullshit, U Sco offer something startlingly honest and unabashedly unique.

The names of the game here are technique and intensity- noise rock at its best! The NEST EP betrays the influences of great bands like Blind Idiot God, the Dazzling Killmen, Noxagt, Painkiller, and early Don Caballero, all while cutting a wide swath into new ground- none of those bands would ever make a record that sounds like this, so listen up if you seek sonic refreshment.

If the sum of the parts make the whole, U Sco are a monolithic aural singularity. Guitarist Ryan Miller offers seemingly impossible flurries of notes, blending blistering speed with mind-bending articulation and a proclivity for teeth-grating dissonance. The rhythmic interplay of drummer Phil Cleary and bassist Jon Scheid effortlessly ratchet the intensity, steadfast and lumbering, yet writhing and sputtering beneath Miller's cascading lines.
